Distinguished and intensely fragrant, the Eucalyptus 'Glacier' captivates with its contemporary elegance. This variety is characterized by its small, rounded leaves of a unique metallic silver-blue , evoking the purity of Nordic landscapes. In addition to purifying the atmosphere with its refreshing essential oil scent, it brings a delicate texture and an incomparable graphic structure to your decor.
Characteristics
Foliage : Rounded, opposite juvenile leaves, waxy silver-blue-grey, releasing a powerful aroma when crushed.
Habit : Upright, bushy, and well-branched, offering a light and airy silhouette.
Light : Requires a very bright location; full sun or abundant bright indirect light is essential to maintain its silvery color.
Growth : Fast in the summer season, developing magnificent flexible stems.
Use : Excellent accent plant for the terrace during the summer, or a temporary indoor plant in a very sunny room.
Usage
Style & Placement : Place it as a centerpiece in the living room near a large window, in a solarium or on a sunny balcony during the warm season.
Decorative advantage : Its structural branches are highly sought after as cut flowers to enrich your fresh or dried bouquets with a modern touch.
Care & Success
Watering : Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist. Although it tolerates a short drought once established, prolonged lack of water will irreversibly dry out its foliage.
Substrate : Requires light, loose, and perfectly drained soil. A quality potting mix with a good proportion of perlite or coarse sand is ideal.
Repotting : Repot in the spring. Choose a slightly larger pot, being careful not to disturb its sensitive roots.
Pruning : Regularly prune the tips of the stems to encourage branching and stimulate the appearance of round juvenile foliage, which is the most decorative.
Fertilization : Apply a balanced fertilizer for green plants at half strength, once a month from March to September.
Toxicity : Keep out of reach of animals (the essential oil contained in the leaves is toxic if ingested).
