FAFARD INTENSE SHADE LAWN SEED is a blend specially designed for areas where light is scarce. Developed by FAFARD, a leading name in lawn seeds, this blend produces a dense and uniform lawn even under trees, near north-facing walls, or on partially shaded terraces and gardens.
Why choose Intense Shade?
High shade tolerance : selected varieties that thrive in low light, preventing sparse areas and discolored patches.
Dense and durable lawn : robust structure that guarantees uniform coverage and beautiful thick blades throughout the season.
Versatile use : ideal for areas under trees, shady garden corners, balconies, and patios that don't receive constant direct sunlight.
Controlled maintenance : designed for regular mowing and moderate watering, even in low-light conditions.
Aesthetic result : color and density that remain visually appealing, even in intense shade.
How to use and maintain it
Prepare the soil by leveling it and removing debris. Spread the seeds evenly, then lightly compact the surface and water gently to promote germination. In favorable conditions, the first shoots can appear in a few days and up to 3 weeks depending on the climate. Keep the substrate slightly moist until the grass reaches 5 to 8 cm, then gradually mow to 4–5 cm.
After germination, apply a suitable lawn fertilizer and adjust watering according to exposure and weather. Avoid prolonged dry periods and opt for regular but moderate watering to support growth in the shade.
Who is it ideal for?
This blend is perfect for homeowners who want a reliable lawn in shady areas: urban gardens, under tree canopies, around doors and windows that remain shaded for part of the day, or on terraces and balconies partially protected from the sun.
What sets this blend apart from other shade solutions
Intense Shade prioritizes a selection of varieties specifically adapted to low light, offering faster coverage and better blade retention in partially shaded conditions. The result: a visually dense and uniform lawn, even when natural light is limited.
