Features and Benefits
Taunus Beetroot: round, deep red roots, dense flesh and sweet taste, perfect for all culinary preparations. Regular yield and early harvest, suitable for reliable home production over a season. Versatile cultivation: ideal raw in salads, cooked as a side dish, or canned for winter. Adaptability: thrives in deep, well-drained soils, in temperate climates. Seeds designed for easy direct sowing and simple thinning, for uniform and homogeneous roots.
How to grow Taunus Beetroot
Direct sowing in the ground, in rows: plant seeds 1.5–2 cm deep, with 2–3 cm spacing between seeds and 25–30 cm between rows. Then thin to leave 8–12 cm between plants. Choose deep, well-drained soil and maintain regular moisture during germination to promote rapid emergence. Regular weeding and light mulching to limit competing resources and preserve soil moisture. Sunny conditions and constant watering promote uniform roots and well-developed flavor.
Harvest, storage and uses
Harvest approximately 50–70 days after sowing, depending on conditions and desired size. Pick roots when their diameter reaches 5–7 cm for best texture and flavor. After harvest, remove foliage and wash lightly. Store in a cool, dark place, or in the refrigerator in a perforated bag to extend freshness (typically 2–4 months). Various uses: steamed, roasted, pureed or canned. Their bright color and natural sweetness add a gourmet touch to soups, salads and stews.
Taunus Beetroot is the gardener's ally who seeks simplicity, reliability and consistent results. These vegetable seeds offer an accessible growing experience from the first sowing, with quality roots, an assertive flavor and practical storage capacity for winter.
